Get the VISA a few days before crossing the border

Hi,

I have obtained the Shenzen VISA a few times already. I than go stay in China one night and return the next day to HK. Since i have some spare time on the day of my arrival in HK, and make my trip to China as efficient as possible, i would like to pick up by Shenzen visa and cross, than go back to hongkong, and cross the China borders 2 days later. Is this possible or does one have to cross the China border and it is not possible to return to HK?

Second question: How long are the waiting lines on a monday morning compared to those on the weekend (saturday/sunday)

You are perfectly allowed to apply and obtain two Shenzhen visas within very short time. In reality, when you exit Shenzhen, you can make an overnight in Hong Kong and return to Shenzhen immediately the next day. Also, you are perfectly allowed to return to Hong Kong even after you have obtained a second Shenzhen VOA.

It is very hard and inconvenient to predict the waiting time at VOA office, but I would say that the waiting lines will be noticeably shorter that during weekends. Not more than 45 minutes of waiting and processing time. Anyway, in case of holidays, festivals and similar, this could change.
