May, it is possible to travel between those two places by public transport with changes since there is not a direct public transport service between those two places, but since you will have your luggage and you are not familiar with Macau public transport, I would suggest you to take a taxi from the taxi stand that is located to the right as you exit the terminal. It is possible that you will have to wait for some time, but eventually you will catch one. The price will be roughly 100 - 120 MOP (practically equivalent to the same amount in HKD). You should be aware that there is some supplement for the luggage, but nothing that will noticeably increase the price.
When you arrive at Hengqin border crossing you will realize that Macau and mainland China immigration authorities are co-located in the same complex. First, you will clear Macau authorities and here you will present your exit ferry ticket from Zhuhai (Jiuzhou) ferry port to Hong Kong. Agai, it is highly advisable to have it as printout or a real ticket bought at Sheung Wan ferry terminal in Hong Kong.
When you arrive at mainland China section you will fill out arrival card and write on it the name of your hotel where you will be asked for your address in China. After that you will perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine and take a receipt with you. When you are done with it, you will ask about 24/240 hour visa free transit counter, but if there is no such counter you will ask immigration where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. It is quite possible that you will done it right at immigration. Here you will present your exit ferry ticket, arrival card, fingerprinting receipt and after a short time you will be granted a temporary entry permit and you will formally cross the immigration and enter mainland China.
When you enter mainland China you can take a taxi, preferably DiDi and transfer to your accommodation. I hope this helps. I wish you a nice stay in Zhuhai.
