About:Shanghai Transportation

I will be having 12 hours transit time at Shanghai Airport.

Am I required to leave the airport, or am I allowed to stay and wait in the airport for 12 hours until my next flight? Do I need to apply for the temporary visa if I am not leaving the airport?

As I know, Malaysia passport holders should hold a transit visa for the transfer. So you'd better apply for one in advance.
