About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I qualify for 10 days visa free transit ?

Canadian passport holder visits HK for 10 days.Then go to visit Shanghai for 5 days . Thereafter go to HK and then Canada.

Unfortunately, this is not possible because the basic rule of 240 hour visa free transit requires that the immediate points before and after mainland China has to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). As you can see, both of your immediate points are in Hong Kong. The solution for this problem is to introduce a nearby Macau into your itinerary and to fly like this: Hong Kong - Shanghai - Macau (by bus or ferry to) - Hong Kong or the other way round, Hong Kong (by bus or ferry to) - Macau - Shanghai - Hong Kong. Like this your itinerary becomes eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need a visa of any kind. Have a nice visit to China.
