The Silk Road in August Heat

I would like to do northern China/Silk Route/Xingjiang in August but I'm quite concerned about the heat; being that temperatures are already high in Beijing. Given that, are there any locations along the north which have lakes/pools or are there any surrounding areas with water? I know its dry. Many thanks!

Hi, Dani. Xinjiang in August could be very hot. You are suggested to visit Qinghai. It has the largest astatic lake in China, Qinghai Lake, which is very beautiful. It's in the northwest of China and close to Xinjiang Province. After visiting Qinghai Lake, you could go to Kanas Lake and Sayram Lake in Xinjiang. I hope this helps.
