About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for the Transiting Without Visa?

I will be travelling from Bangkok (BKK) to Chengdu (TFU) with a connecting flight onward to Rome (FCO) on the same date (3h35min layover). My nationality is Brazilian, and I do not plan to leave the airport transit area.

Could you kindly confirm whether I require a transit visa (G-visa or similar) for my Chengdu connection, or if I qualify for the Transiting Without Visa (TWOV) policy? My connections are within the same terminal, and baggage is checked through to Rome.

You really do not have to worry. You do not need any kind of visa because Brazilian citizens can enter, stay and explore China for up to 30 days absolutely visa free. In other words you are not even a subject of visa free transit or similar stuff. You can consider your transit through China as if you were traveling from Rio de Janeiro via Buenos Aires to Santiago. Visa free. Also, when you land in Chengdu you do not have to perform any formality nor you will fill out any forms. You will just walk from one to the other gate and you will just encounter a security check between the two. Also, you will not be a subject of immigration or customs inspection. In other words, your transit through China will be totally simple, painless and visa free. Have a nice journey.
