About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Xiamen 24 hour visa free transit pax wants to leave airport

Ni Hao. For Philippine passport who is transitting in Xiamen from Sydney to manila on July 2024,  with 22 hours layover , can passenger leave airport for a quick tour and stay in a hotel in Xiamen City as this is overnight layover?
how to apply the 24-hour visa-free entry permit? thanks

If Xiamen is your only stop within mainland China, then your layover will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa.

Since your layover is a very long one, you are advised to book a hotel in advance and to print out that accommodation booking confirmation and to have it at hand along with your flight tickets.

Upon landing, you will approach transit counter where you will present the printouts mentioned above and where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. This application is free of charge and after a short check, you will be granted a permit and you will then cross the immigration to spend your free time on your own in Xiamen.
