US to Hong Kong to US

I am U.S. citizens, flying from Boston to HK, and then From HK back to U.S. During my time in HK, may I able to enter ShenZhen for few days without a China Visa?

No, this way doesn't work. Below are two options:
1. Apply for a visa at the Shenzhen port upon approaching there from HK. The visa is only valid for 5 days and it is not guaranteed you will 100% get it.

2. You can fly to Shenzhen from US to enjoy the 144-hour visa-free transit first, then travel to Hong Kong by ferry to take a flight back to US. One thing needs attention is that you need to have the ferry ticket in hand when landing in Shenzhen.
