About:Visa on Arrival

Entering from HK to Shenzhen with Chinese Visa

I will arrive in HK, travel to Shenzhen then one day later flight to another city in China. I will already have a Chinese Visa in my passport. Do I need the Shenzhen Visa as well or is the Chinese one enough already?
I will probably come by high speed train but not sure yet, if it makes a difference.

You do not need a Shenzhen visa. Shenzhen is integral part of mainland China, so your Chinese visa obtained in advance is valid for the entire country, Shenzhen included. The Chinese authorities have just singled out several cities that are conveniently located as places where they issue territory limited visas to facilitate tourists and business travelers their commute with nearby centers like Hong Kong and Macau.

Also, you are free to take a high speed train from Hong Kong to Shenzhen because it is the most convenient in every single aspect because you will have your Chinese visa in your passport. Those looking for a Shenzhen visa on arrival are not allowed to take a high speed train. In any case, just dismiss all the worries proceed freely to Shenzhen, stay there and after that just proceed to some other place within mainland China as you wish. Have a nice journey.

Thanks for the confirmation. Then my last question, where will I get my Chinese visa entry stamped? At HK airport? At arrival of the train in Shenzhen? When leaving Shenzhen (I flight to another city in China)?

Ok I found my own answer here: https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/contactus/control_points.html
The immigration take place at the Express Rail Link West Kowloon in Hong Kong before departure. It's open 6.30am to 11.30pm and according to some Reddit posts, it should take about 30min but it's better to arrive around 1h before train departure to avoid missing the train, especially the first time we travel from here.
I hope it will help others.

Yes Musky, you are correct. At West Kowloon station both Hong Kong and mainland China authorities will perform all the formalities. You will get a mainland China entry stamp there and when you sit in the train, you are considered to be in a mainland China territory. After that you are free to travel to Shenzhen and later to some other city of your choice :)
