Return to Hong Kong by high speed rail?

Is it possible to enter Shenzhen with a VOA through one of the eligible ports, but return to Hong Kong by high-speed rail? Or does that cause issues at the PRC/SAR border in Hong Kong station?

To return to Hong Kong a high speed train is recommended and not problematic. There are no issues of any kind. In reality, you can even fly out of Shenzhen to any third country by a nonstop flight from Shenzhen airport. Shenzhen 5 days visa is a real visa, but with limited territorial coverage as far as the mainland China is concerned.
