Petra, you will have in reality a stop of 2 hours and 10 minutes in Urumqi and this is the key detail that makes us all puzzled what will Chinese authorities decide about this infamous Urumqi layovers slightly longer than 2 hours. Looking strictly by the book, you need a Chinese transit (G) visa because your layover in Urumqi will be longer than 2 hours, although your entire transit time will be less than 24 hours. Trust me, these details with the flight CZ6022 are bothering so many future travelers and they are all looking for fresh experiences about the passengers that have decided not to obtain a visa for just 10 minutes more than 2 hours. We still don't have an experience from a passenger traveling this route now when the layover in Urumqi has been prolonged by 10 minutes, but we will, hopefully, have one testimony very soon. You are advised to return here at the end of this month and I hope we will be able to offer you a correct and reliable answer. Until then, all of us know exactly as you do and we are all guessing what will happen. I apologize for not being able to offer you a definite answer, but at least I hope that we will be able to do that within 3 weeks or so.
