About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 hours Visa Free transit

As a US citizen attempting to get the 240-hour transit visa at entry, I will be traveling to three approved cities Beijing- Xian-Shanghai in China. Do I need to show immigration my domestic airline or bullet train tickets with seat numbers as well? I ask because I don't yet have the city-to-city tickets, since I will be on a 8-day tour and the tour company will purchase those tickets upon my arrival. However, I do have a confirmed exit ticket out of the country from Shanghai to Hong Kong with a seat number. I'm a bit anxious about traveling without this information and potentially being denied entry. Do I need to provide city-to-city tickets information to immigration at entry to get the 240 transit visa, or is my exit ticket sufficient?

You can relax because it will be perfectly enough / sufficient to show your tour company tailored itinerary. It is the best to have it as a printout. Also, there is no need to present anything with a seat number. Seat number is redundant requirement that is not required any more (for at least 10 years or even more). Only the confirmed tickets or tour company tailored itineraries are required.

It is, however, important to have your exit ticket, as you have already prepared, ready to be presented. One more detail... You entry into mainland China has to be from a different entity than Hong Kong because you will use Hong Kong for your exit. Have a nice visit to China.

So as a USA citizen, does this route qualify for 240 transit free visa. I’ll be traveling from USA to Tokyo (layover) to Beijing to Xian (bullet train) to Shanghai (flight) to Hong Kong (flight).

Also . Are one allow to travel to different regions under this 240 hour visa free transit.
