Proof on onward travel for 240 visa free transit. Zhuhai - HK by bus
I am an Indonesian passport holder and I am planning to travel to Mainland China under the 240-hour visa-free transit policy.
My planned itinerary is:
- Macau → Zhuhai/Hengqin Port
- Stay in Zhuhai for several days
- Zhuhai → Hong Kong by cross-border bus
- Hong Kong → Indonesia by air
I understand that, in order to qualify for the 240-hour visa-free transit, I need to hold an onward ticket with a confirmed date and itinerary to a third country or region.
However, I have a question regarding the onward travel requirement.
The cross-border bus ticket from Zhuhai to Hong Kong cannot be purchased online in advance and can only be purchased at the bus station/port on the day of travel.
In this situation, what document can I present to the immigration authorities when entering Zhuhai to prove my onward travel to Hong Kong?
Would the following documents be acceptable as proof of onward travel?
1. My confirmed flight ticket/boarding pass from Hong Kong to Indonesia several days after entering Zhuhai; and
2. My confirmed accommodation booking in Hong Kong
Alternatively, would I be required to purchase or obtain a confirmed Zhuhai–Hong Kong bus ticket before entering Mainland China?
I would greatly appreciate your clarification on whether a confirmed Hong Kong → Indonesia international flight ticket can be accepted as the onward ticket/proof of onward travel in this situation, given that my intended route is:
Macau → Zhuhai → Hong Kong → Indonesia
