Do I need a visa to enter HK to start a cruise?

I'm a US citizen and will fly in to HK from the US to start a cruise. I arrive in HK on one day and leave the next day. At the end of the cruise, I fly from Singapore to HK for a two hour layover then back to the US. Is any type of visa required?
