Do I need to apply for a visa if my flight is transit?

I am planning my trip from Osaka to London through a transit flight stopping less than 24 hours in Shanghai. I am a citizen of Uzbekistan in this regard my question is am I eligible for 24 hour transit visa or no? I found that citizens of most countries are eligible for this option, but want to confirm about my case. Thank you
