About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

3 days free visa

I will arrive to Shanghai May 2nd 2020 by cruising and want to stay there for 3days, my question is if I need to get China visa ?

Nooshi, you have failed to supply us with so many missing information. Who knows, maybe you are eligible for visa free transit in Shanghai!? Here are the conditions you have to fulfill and you will be able to see whether you are eligible:

- Your cruise should not have its last port call, immediately before Shanghai, in mainland China
- Your flight from Shanghai should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its last port of call

If your itinerary has fulfilled above mentioned conditions, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai twice. Of course, I assume that you are a US citizen.
