About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong (3 hr Layover), Beijing (8 day stay), then to Hanoi

My question is our travel plans next month starts in Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong (3 Hour layover) Then Beijing. 8 days in Beijing then to Hanoi. Will this qualify for the 240 hour visa free? Please help. Thank you so much.
