Recent practice by Chinese immigration officials has shown that Malaysian passport holders are granted Shenzhen visa only in case when they have been granted a Chinese visa previously by embassies or consulates. So, if you have a visa in your actual or old passport, bring it to support your visa application.

In case that a Shenzhen VOA is granted, the holder of such a visa is allowed to travel to any foreign country by direct flight from Shenzhen airport.

It is not allowed to move away from the boundaries of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. So, a trip to Guangzhou is not allowed.
