About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying from the USA -> Tokyo -> Beijing & then Xian -> Shanghai -> USA.

In October 2026 year, we are doing two back to back tours, first in Japan then China. Spending 9 days in China.
- Fly USA -> Tokyo
- Fly Tokyo -> Beijing
- Train Beijing -> Xian
- Fly Xian -> Shanghai
- Fly Shanghai to USA
Is this itinerary acceptable for the 240 hour visa free transit?

Yes, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. You should just take care that your flight from Shanghai to US does not have a landing in Japan of any kind. Have a nice visit to China.
