About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

German citizen 114hour transit visa

hey,

I am a German citizen and passport holder. I am planning to fly from Germany to Beiijing and then directly to Zurich (Switzerland). A few hours later then back to Germany. Does that work and qualify for the transit visa?

Also, if I am arriving on Wednesday, 24 April 2019 at 10:35 am; what day and time do I need to leave Beijing to take my flight back?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you are perfectly within the legal frame for 144 hours free transit. Anyway, you should have in mind that your flight from Germany to Beijing has to be nonstop or at least without any landing in Switzerland or any city in mainland China in between.

If you arrive on 24 April at 10:35, the time of your 144 hours free transit starts ticking on 25 April at 00:00. Having in mind this fact, you are free to take any flight from China until 30 April at 23:59.
