About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

144hour visa free transit query

Hi there,
I like to check if following itinerary qualify for 144hour visa free transit:
SIN-Guangzhou via AIR
Shenzhen-HongKong via FERRY
(Is there direct ferry from Shenzhen to HKIA? If yes, does it qualify for 144hr visa?)

Yes, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

You will take a direct ferry from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Hong Kong. This service is provided by CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport. You will buy your ferry ticket in advance, print it out and have a hard copy with you. In reality, this ferry ticket will be your proof that you are in transit. Also, you will have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for.

Can I further clarify so do I need to make any declaration or application upon arrival in Guangzhou for the 144hr visa free transit? What about hotel accommodation? Any restriction or regulation on that?

You will declare your intention, but without making any application or written statement, to fly to travel to Hong Kong via Guangzhou at check-in in Singapore. There your itinerary tickets will be checked. After that you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you will approach 144 hour visa free transit counter where you will say the same thing and will also apply for a temporary entry permit for free. You will enclose your travel itinerary along with an accommodation booking confirmation for at least first overnight. This is all that you need to do. After your documents are briefly checked, you will be granted a permit and you will be allowed to proceed to the exit. There are no restrictions beside one that limits your area of travel and stay to the entire Guangdong province.
