About:Visa on Arrival

I am going on a costa cruise from Singapore to Tokyo and the ship stops at Shenzhen

Do I need a visa even if I don't intend getting off the ship, it's only there from 7.00 till 14.00 ?

Hi Darren
we are also on the Cruise and been coming up against the same issues for the brief 7 hr stop in Shenzhen.
I have eventually had a reply from Costa who say we will be allowed to board the Ship and stay on board during the stop in Shenzhen without going ashore, however must sign a waver saying if the Chinese immigration cause any issues we will be disembarked and left to our own devices.
I have contacted others on the Cruise who have similar information.
Brenda nfd recieved the following from Costa "Per our Port agent, UK guests with no Chinese visa may remain onboard the vessel in Shenzhen.
But if you want to go onshore in Shenzhen you have to secure a pre arrival visa to China."
If you also check out the Costa excursions you will see its the only Port with no arranged day trips just expensive 72 hr tours where you leave the ship and rejoin in Tiawan ??
Another passenger has said that no one will be leaving the ship due to it being a "Technical Stop".

Also one of the passengers has created a Facebook Page with some info Costa Venezia far east Discovery.

Hi there,
We are also on this cruise and hit the problems with the SZ port. We booked with Planet cruise and their Visa site wanted 600 pound per person for the Chinese visa.
Are you going to sign the costa forms and take a chance?
Also, now I've started to panic-do we need visa's for any other stops?
