Tokyo Repositioning Cruise

Hello! I'm a US citizen traveling to China via a cruise that ends in Shanghai (Japan - Beijing -Shanghai). I will likely be flying to either the US or or South Korea after spending a few days in Shanghai. Will I need to apply for a visa, or will this itinerary qualify for the the 240 hour TWOV? Thank you!
