Does one need to retrieve and recheck luggage when flying with Air China?

Hi,
I'm flying to Japan through T3. Both my flights (to Beijing and from Beijing to Tokyo) are at T3 and both are operated by AIR CHINA. Do I need to retrieve and recheck my luggage in Beijing?
