About:Beijing City Bus

I have an 8 hours stopover. So I want to visit Beijing Forbidden City.

From airport to dongzhimen to east Tian'anmen- Forbidden city, this way I already found. Now I am looking to return Dongzhimen to take airport express, what will be the best option?
And also important 31 December is this Monday a national holiday?
arrive Beijing at 5.30am, flight depature will be 13.40 to BKK.

From Forbidden City to Dongzhimen, take metro line 1 from Tian'anmen East to Jianguomen Station.
Then transfer to metro line 2 to Dongzhimen. In addition, yes, December 31st is one day of the New Year's Holiday.

How much time do I need to reserve for going back to aiport (forbiddencity-airport)?(I thought 1hour).
Forbidden City is a good option for 8hour stopover?

From forbidden city do I need to go by exit east to Tian'anmen east, or is the normal north exit ok and then walking to Tian'anmen east station?

From Forbidden City to Airport, yes, you need to prepare 1 hour.
Yes, it is a good option for 8 hour stopover.
You need to exit from the North Gate.
