About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

I will be flying Dublin to Beijing (5 days) to Bangkok.

My question is does it matter what way the flights are booked, eg. through different airlines/multi city?
Or is all that matters is that you have a flight out of Beijing within 144 hours of arriving to Beijing?

Separate tickets/carriers are fine. All that matters is that Beijing is your only stop in China, you have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country, and your passport is from one of the 53 listed countries. It's quite straightforward.
