US citizen Flying fromI US with layover in Canada

I am a US citizen leaving from San Diego with a layover in Vancouver on the way to Shanghai. I will be in the Shanghai region for a little more than three days before I leave on a cruise ship to Hong Kong. Does this qualify for the 144 hour program?
