About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa-free stay in Beijing - A major loophole

Based on my recent experience, it is possible to fly from A (say London) to Beijing and back to A (London again). There is no need to go from Beiing to C (say Paris) in order to be eligible for the visa-free stay.

It is only necessary to fly (from London) with an airline that requires a change of plane en route (in Doha, Qatar, for example) and come back to London with another airline, either direct or with a change of plane in a different country, (Dubai, UAE for example). When changing planes in Doha, there is no need to go through immigration. One simply waits in the transit area for the connecting flight.

This is allowed because the Beijing Airport Border Control interprets the place where one changes plane (eg Dubai) as being the starting point of one's journey, Thus, from their viewpoint, the journey is A (Dubai) to Beijing to C (London).

Would Travel China confirm this, please?.

That’s not a loophole and it’s always been the case for many years. Only your flights immediately before and after China are relevant. All other flights on your itinerary are irrelevant to Chinese immigration.

A loophole was back when you could book London > China > London. Then book a fake itinerary China to Hong Kong and cancel once arriving in China. Your itin is just following the normal rules where the country that you land from just cant be the first place you go to after leaving China
