24-hr visa-free transit for PHL passport holding 2 separate tickets

Hello. May I ask if I am eligible for the 24-hr visa-free transit if I am a PHL passport holder arriving in Guangzhou (CAN) at 2100 and then my next flight is on a different ticket the next day at 0500 going to TAS on Centrum Air. I am planning to have one checked-in luggage. Am I eligible for the 24-hr visa-free facility? Thank you.

Part 1:

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Here is what they should do in the exact order:

- Before the flight you will print out your flight tickets (ticket confirmations). This is so much easier than handling the tickets over the mobile phone. You should have your flight tickets at hand in both the country before China and in Guangzhou.
- Also, before departure you will fill out Chinese arrival card online through China National Immigration administration website!
- At the moment of check-in in the country before China you will present your flight tickets and declare that you are traveling to Tashkent via China (Guangzhou) under 24 hour visa free transit scheme. After a short check, you will be issued a boarding pass for your flight to Guangzhou.
- Upon landing in Guangzhou the first thing you will do is to perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine.
- After fingerprinting you will proceed to 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for the temporary entry permit by presenting your flight tickets. This is free of any charge. After a short check you will be granted a temporary entry permit because you have to enter China formally because the flights are unrelated (not a single booking).
- After you have obtained a temporary entry permit you will proceed to the immigration.
- After immigration you will collect your luggage and proceed to check-in counters for your flight to Tashkent or you will simply wait until the check-in counter open.
- After you have checked the luggage you will cross the security check (metal detector and the stuff), then exit immigration and finally head to the gate for your flight to Tashkent.

Part 2:

During your layover in Guangzhou you can even deposit your luggage at airport left luggage facility (please, watch carefully the opening hours of the facility) and head to the city (hotel) for a couple of hours of night rest. Maybe the layover in your case is relatively too short for something like this, but it will be up to you to decide. I hope this helps.
