3 day in china

i am a uk passport holder but i want to travel to hong kong but i also want to take a train down to china guangzhou for 3 days, do i need a chinese visa for this. also how much would that cost for the 3 days

Yes, you need to apply for a visa for the trip to Guangzhou. Maybe you could prepare RMB1000 per day.
