About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am flying from Amsterdam to Bangkok, with a stopver in Guangzhou.

Am I eligible for the 24hrs free visa?
Do I need to claim my luggage? (I guess not because my luggage would normally be transferred to the departing flight (to Bangkok)

Yes, you will be eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou.
You are advised to contact with the airlines if you need to claim your luggage or it will be delivered to final destination directly.
