About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Third Country

I am a Canadian citizen living and working in Taiwan. Would I be able to apply for the 144 hour free transit, even though I DO NOT have a third country I am visiting? My ticket would be Taipei- Shanghai -Taipei.

You obviously won't qualify for visa-free transit, because Taipei-Shanghai-Taipei isn't a transit. You need a visa.
