I have a question, do we need to get visas when entering China? And how much are they? We are U.S citizens so we'll be using our U.S passports.

Generally speaking, foreigners who want to visit China will need to apply for the Chiense visa at local Chinese embassy. For Americans, the visa fee is USD140 and the process usually takes 5-7 working days. You may also contact your local Chinese embassy about the detailed info of visa applilcation.
