Transit Visa Onward to Sydney

Hi, I am travelling from Dubai to Sydney on Cathay Pacific and I have a 4 hour transit at Hong Kong Airport. I have a valid Australian Resident permit but I am a Pakistani Passport Holder. In some websites I have noted that it says that Transit Visa may be required however on other websites I have noted that if the transit time is less than 12 hours (which is true in my case) and if I have an onward ticket and valid Australian residence permit, then I may be exempted from a Hong Kong Transit Permit.

Kindly let me know if I would require a Hong Kong Transit Permit being a Pakistani Passport Holder but possessing a valid Australian residence permit for onward journey?

As you have got Australian resident permit and onward ticket to Australian, you will be exempted from a HK tansit permit. You can double check this from HK Immigration Department. Tel.:(852) 2824 6111

Hi Raza,

I'm in a similar situation. Did you need a transit visa eventually or not?
