About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US Passport - Foreign Resident

I'm a US Passport holder living in Japan as a Permanent Resident. I want to book a trip from Tokyo to Shanghai (5 days) and then continue on to either Macau/Taiwan/Philippines and then back to Tokyo.

The above travel plans are acceptable for the 144 hour visa exemption?
