About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need Transit

I'm US Citizen and Wife holds British Passport, We will be in transit in Shanghai for nearly 21 hours on our trip from London to Tokyo. Can we visit Shanghai city during this transit without applying for tourist visa ?

If your route is LON-SHA-TYO then you don't need a tourist visa. You can have 24 hours free transit in Shanghai and leave the airport.
