About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

We are flying from Canada through Beijing and connecting with a flight to phuket.

We r landing in terminal 3 and connecting the Phuket flight in terminal 3. Both flights are with air china. Can you tell me what I need to know to connect our flight. We flew before to BJ, but that time we were staying in the city so we took the train to get our luggage. Do we take any trains on this trip. Thanks for your assistance

Well, as you use Air China for the whole journey, the transfer will be finished in T3, no need to take any bus or trains. You don't need to handle the baggage on your own and it will be directly transferred to the final destination. Generally, the steps you should follow for the transit is like this:
Arriving – Transfer Procedure – Go through Transit Inspection – Security Check – Customs – International Departure Hall – Waiting and Boarding

I have a similar situation, I only have 1.5 hour layover though (flying Air China from JFK to PEK, 1.5 hour layover, then PEK to Kuala Lumpur). Will that be sufficient time to go through that process do you think?

Yes, generally speaking, the time is sufficient. It is also an international to international transfer in T3 of PEK. Don't worry.

Thank you Matthew! I figured it would be ok since it was the same terminal, but was a bit worried by the inspection/security/customs process and thought it might take too long.
