About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Third Country?

In order to avail of this free transit do you have to leave from a different country to the one that you go to after China. eg can I fly Phnom Penh-Shanghai-Phnom Penh and get this visa?

No, you cannot get the free transit if you fly Phnom Penh-Shanghai-Phnom Penh. The country or region you fly to after staying in China should be different from the country or region you fly from before enter China.
If you fly like Phnom Penh-Shanghai—HK-Phnom Penh, or Phnom Penh-HK-Shanghai-Phnom Penh, you will be able to get the free transit.
