About:Beijing Transportation

I am considering booking a flight that has a long layover in Beijing Capital Airport.

The layover would be from 6:00am to 3pm. Is it possible to get a transit visa to go to hotel to rest? Where would I do that?

Do any of the hotels near the airport offer day-rooms that we could use for sleeping and showering? We are not considering staying in one of the hourly rooms located inside the airport as we've been told they often smell of tobacco smoke and I have one daughter allergic to tobacco. Thank you.

No, you don't need to get the transit visa. You can enjoy 24 hours visa free policy because your stopover is within 24 hours. However, if you wanna leave the airport, you need to apply for the Stay Permit at the airport.

For accommodation, you are advised to stay at Airport Tianyuan Hotel. The price is CNY 300-400 per night in usual time. It provides clean environment and kind service. The exact location is No.9, west side of Tongshun Road, near T3.
