About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

U.S. military member living in Korea, do I need an ARC to get a China visa?

I live in Korea, but have an American address (I live on an American military installation). Do I need an ARC to get a Chinese entry permit? I plan on visiting next month, but I've never even heard of an ARC before reading it here today. I have official government orders stating I live in Korea, is that enough?
Thanks for any replies!

Kathryn, I think the official government orders are enough. You can just apply for it.
