About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

vacation in hong kong

since we will be in hong kong for a week (american citizen), I want to know how we can get a chinese visa fast? My son is dreaming about going to Beijing it would be a dream of a lifetime to see it. We are thinking for a day trip or a 24 hour visit. Do you know how much are the fees without a hassle? Thank you.

Junjan, you can travel to Beijing for 24 hours from USA and then fly to HK, in this case, no entry permit is required.

Or you can go to Beijing from HK and stay there for 24 hours, after that, you can go to Macau, if so, no entry permit is required.

Of course, you can apply for a tourist L type to visit Beijing and you should first prepare the required documents containing the application form, a passport-style photo, round trip tickets and hotel reservation. And then submit your application to the consulate general of PRC in USA to apply for it. It usually takes 4 working days and costs USD 140 per person. You can also choose the urgent service which only takes 1 working day and it costs USD 170.
