About:Chinese Embassy in Egypt

Do I need to apply at the Embassy?

I'm from Egypt, travelling from Japan to Hong Kong to attend a conference for 6 days.
As I understand, I need the following:
A valid passport (6 months or more)
A ticket proving continuation to another country
Hotel reservation
Bank statement or equivalent.
Do I need anything else?, and should I apply at the Embassy or something or just have this documents at the airport?.
I look forward to your answer.
