About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Layover for 19 hours in Pudong Airport.

Hi, I am Sri Lankan, traveling from Japan to Sri Lanka. I am planning to take China estern from fukuoka to colombo. The transit is 19 hours. Do I need visa for this stay at the air port? It will be a direct transit within 24hours?

My carrier until the final destination will be China estern. In this case do I need to check in baggage at the transit? If so then I need to go through immigration? Please help!

1. No, you don't need to apply for a visa. You can enjoy the 24 hours visa free policy because your stopover is just 19 hours.
2. According to the situation, do you hold the interline tickets?
If yes, you don't need to collect the luggage and reclaim them. But the immigration is necessary.
The correct procedures are the following:
Confirm Onward Boarding Pass - Check-in - Quarantine - Immigration - Security Check - Go to the International Concourse - Boarding
Hope helpful!
