About:China Visa

As a DUI "is" considered a Criminal offense there "is" a chance he "may" be denied a Visa?

Alan suggests he enter "No" on the Application hoping this does not pop up I guess? "people have answered "no" andfinally got theirs? Finally? to me indicates they had problems?

By the time the application is processed they would have already paid $500.+ for 2 + $29. X 2=$58. to Generations entry permit to re-type the application AND will have already paid over $14,000. for their Avalon trip.

As their travel agent I am hesitant to risk all this $$$$$$ as it seems I am gambling with their $$$$$ - if he is denied, she will cancel for both of them. We have already paid almost $2,000 deposit and travel protection I don't think the insurance covers being denied ( I will check on that )

She is a nervous Nellie questioning every line on the application in good conscience I feel I must advise her that DUI will be considered a Criminal Offense. As I doubt anyone will endorse checking off "no" so she is really just taking a chance right? Decisions decisions! She has many other issues with the? on the application as has already checked of "No"

In Halifax like 10 yes ago he was subjected to intense interrogation and "fially" was allowed to enter ( his passport was stamped for exactly the dates of their tour) + they charged him $350.

That passport expired = his current passport does not show this issue + the DUI was like 20 years ago I thought that was expunged after 10 years. what to do???

Elaine, first you should understand that the consular officers have the final say. I even heard that those who prepared all required documents were refused and they didn't receive any explanation from the Chinese embassy/consulate.

Second, I suggest you check No because it wasn't a serious crime. Yes, there are some people who checked Yes and explained in the application. They finally got their entry permits. On the other hand, we really don't know whether the consular officer checks detailed background of the applicants. Nobody (even the agents) can't guarantee that your application will be approved for sure.
