Dwi conviction, June 13th 2015

Hello, I am now applying for a Chinese Visa to go abroad with my Chinese friend for only two weeks.
They ask about a criminal record. My probation is not really over until June 13th 2016. I am planning on going May 31st and returning June 16th.I was convicted of DWI June 5th 2015.

The question is , will they reject me because of this conviction? Since it is recent, they might. It is considered a misdemeanor here, but is it considered a bigger offense over there.? My husband who has been to PRC says they will not check. What do you think?

I don't want to lie, but if they don't check, I'd be better off saying no criminal activity. What a mess.

Thank you.

Ginger, DWI is not considered as a big offence in China either. I'm not sure whether the consular officers will check your criminal record when they process your application, but it's not good to lie during the application process. Since the crime is not big, you still have some chance to get the PRC entry permit.
