About:China Work Visa

Criminal background

I've lived in Shanghai since August of 2013. I've never had a problem renewing my visa or obtaining one in the first place. This time my visa was denied because of a DUI on my criminal record from 2008. My agent is now saying I will never be able to acquire a visa in China again due to new policies. Is this true? Is there any way around it?

I'm not sure if that is true, as long as your criminal background check states you have no criminal background you should be okay. also its been 10 years since your DUI, you can apply for expungement. if your background states that you have some history then i am afraid that you may not be able to acquire a visa.
