any travel restrictions

Question

I have a very important question. Is it necessary for a person who is from the Philipphines and living/working in Guangzhou to have a certain amount of money to board an airplane in China and fly to the USA.This person is telling me she needs a certain amount of cash travel money in order to board an airplane plus travel insurance to come to the USA. I have asked the USA Consulate in Guangzhou and they have told me that there is no such policy by either the Chinese or American immigration.I hope you can answer my question and also send me an e-mail to give me the answer.Brad

Hi Brad, I agree with the consulate. I never heard of such requirements from the PRC side. However, it's possible that the US side may have such an requirement.
