About:China Consulate in Houston

Any travel restrictions

I have a very important question. Is it necessary for a person who is from the Philipphines and living/working in Guangzhou to have a certain amount of money to board an airplane in China and fly to the USA.

This person is telling me she needs a certain amount of cash travel money in order to board an airplane plus travel insurance to come to the USA. I have asked the USA Consulate in Guangzhou and they have told me that there is no such policy by either the Chinese or American immigration.

I hope you can answer my question and also send me an e-mail to give me the answer.

Brad

Hi Brad, I agree with the consulate. I never heard of such requirements from the PRC side. However, it's possible that the US side may have such an requirement.
