About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

i have an eight hour layover in Guangzhou Airport.

Am I allowed to go into the city or must i stay at the airport?

You can enter the city, but you need to apply for a stay permit in the airport. In addition, you need to inform your airline about the transit permit application in advance.
