I'm going to have a 9 hour layover at the airport, what is the best way to see the Great Wall?

Heidi, you should take airport express to reach Dongzhimen. There you can change subway line 2 to reach Xizhimen. Then you just need to walk to Beijing North Railway Station. There you can take S2 train to visit the wall. For your return trip, you can take the reverse route to reach airport.

Heidi, I think you can make it. According to what you said, you just have nine hours. So it means that you will leave on 15:30. If you take international flight to leave, then you need to spare two hours for checking and boarding. So you need to go back to the airport at 13:30.

Then you just have around six hours. I think it's enough. You may spend around 4 hours on the way and then have two hours to tour the wall.
