I am visiting Hong Kong from Australia and want to make a train trip to Chengdu. Di I need a visa?

Well, you don't need a visa in HK, for Australian passport holders are exempt from visa for 90 days there. But for CD city, a visa is needed. U can apply for one in your country in advance or get one in HK through a travel agency.
